Our History

The Meadowlands Development Corporation traces its roots to 1949 when our founder, Paul Stober, and his brother Al Stober built their first home in Medicine Hat.  That home on 11th Street S.E. stands today as a testimony to the quality that is built into every one of our products.  Our history is filled with creating vibrant, well-designed communities where you can reside peacefully.  We strive to design our communities so you can walk on paths, relax in parks, and take advantage of nearby shopping and restaurants without even having to get into a vehicle.

We are also a leading commercial property developer in Medicine Hat.  Offering quality commercial space within the most desirable areas of the city has been foundational to our success.  We are very satisfied with the high quality of long term tenants occupying our buildings.

President's Message

The Meadowlands Development Corporation has enjoyed wonderful growth over the past decade. This is primarily due to a vibrant economic climate in Southern Alberta. I want to thank my staff and sub-contractors for their dedication and loyalty. I would also like to thank our very satisfied customers and tenants who have added to our success.

The future looks extremely positive. I anticipate adding some very desirable commercial sites to our portfolio and selling homes in our Encore Manufactured Home Community in the near future. We are nearing the completion of our Saamis Pointe Estates and Saamis Pointe Town Home projects.

Our longer term projects include a major commercial and residential project on the Black and White Trail across from the new Walmart and a golf course housing and recreational development in Sylvan Lake, Alberta - one of Canada’s fastest growing areas.

It is the goal of our management team to continue to grow the company in a socially responsible, community oriented, and environmentally sensitive manner.
